Set exact pixel dimensions

Plenty of uploads accept only one specific size: a 512-pixel avatar, a 1200-pixel-wide header, a thumbnail that has to fit a grid. Typing the numbers you actually need is faster and more predictable than dragging a corner and hoping. Good to know

  • Aspect-ratio lock can be turned off when a platform demands an exact non-proportional size.
  • Scaling down is clean and lossless-looking; scaling far above the original resolution cannot invent detail that was never captured.
  • A smaller pixel size is usually a bigger file-size win than compression alone, since it removes data rather than approximating it.
  • Output keeps the input format, and PNG stays lossless.
